Cooling Centers in Fairview

Dear Fairview Residents, Due to the excessive heat, we are opening a Cooling Centers in the Borough of Fairview. The Fairview Public Library from 10AM to 8PM located at 213 Anderson Avenue and it will be open as long as necessary beginning June 23rd. Please stay safe.

Notice is hereby given that the Fairview Mayor and Council will have a Special Meeting on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 5:00 pm.  The Special Meeting of June 26, 2025 will be held remotely by Webex or in person in the Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 59 Anderson Avenue, Fairview, NJ.   To joint virtually access instructions provided on Borough website:  https://fairviewborough.com   The purpose of this meeting is to consider the Planning Board’s amendments to the Master Plan concerning the Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan for the 2025 to 2035 Round of Affordable Housing and approval of related Resolutions.  Official Action will be taken

Government

Local Government

Fairview is governed under the Borough form of New Jersey municipal government. The government consists of a Mayor and a Borough Council comprising six council members, with all positions elected at large. A Mayor is elected directly by the voters to a four-year term of office and only votes to break a tie. The Borough Council consists of six members elected to serve three-year terms on a staggered basis, with two seats coming up for election each year.

Regular Meetings held every third Tuesday of each month 6:00 p.m. Council immediately following Caucus in the Borough Hall Council Chambers

The Mayor & Council of the Borough of Fairview may require a closed session at any given meeting listed above. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 10:4-12, the Governing Body will adopt a resolution at an Open Meeting indicating the reasons for going into Closed Session. No action will be taken in closed session.
